Not sure whether scriptwriters intended it this way, to show Roy growing increasingly distant from Christy, but it ends up doing just the opposite and ruining all their hard work in creating a convincing relationship between teenage Roy and Christy's teacher Alvin Henry - although named Christy on paper - Debutant Alvin Henry must portray their bond convincingly, something which he does with style and conviction.
